U2 company limited plans to start production in Ghana
AvtoVAZ has found a new base for expanding the production of Lada cars, as reported by RIA Novosti.
A company from Ghana, U2 company limited, has received a license to sell LADA cars and is currently actively negotiating with representatives of AvtoVAZ regarding the localization of production in Ghana. The Chairman of the Ghanaian-Russian Business Development Council, Lawrence Auku-Boateng, confirmed this information, noting that dialogues are currently underway with Russian partners.
AvtoVAZ will expand Lada production in another country
This is not AvtoVAZ’s first step in the African region. Earlier, in early autumn, the automaker signed a contract to produce Lada cars in Ethiopia. It is planned that production there will begin in the near future, and the vehicles will be supplied not only to the domestic market of Ethiopia, but also to other African countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya and Somalia.
In July, it was reported about the concern’s plans for partner assembly of Lada cars in Algeria, as well as negotiations on the supply of cars to other African countries, such as Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco and South Africa.
