Baldur’s Gate 3 Developers Solve Save Issue Due To First Major Patch

Larian Studios has confirmed in its microblog and on the Steam website that the first sufficiently large update for the role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 is once again available for download.

Recall, shortly after the initial release, it turned out that the coveted patch inadvertently deprived some gamers of the ability to load their save. The developers returned the game to the previous build and called on the community to be patient.

The wait has come to an end – Baldur’s Gate 3 customers on Steam and GOG can already download the patch, and Google Stadia users will be able to do so throughout the day.

“The tiefling got stuck in the mechanism and was crushed there. The culprit turned out to be a fourth-level spell, but everything has already been fixed. The patch is available again! Thanks for the support!” – shared at Larian Studios.

The update is designed to add some polish to some scenes, change selected dialogs, add additional tips, and fix a number of errors, including those that led to crashes. A complete list of fixes is available here.

As in the case of Divinity: Original Sin 2, at the end of Early Access, Baldur’s Gate 3 will not allow players to continue playing: saves from the pre-release and full versions will be incompatible.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was released on October 6 in Early Access on PC (Steam, GOG) and on Google Stadia. Despite all the problems, the launch exceeded the expectations of the developers: the head of Larian Studios Swen Vincke called the sales of the game “just insane
