There are many reasons for price increase.
Since last year, Russia has been living in a new reality, in which there is a shortage of cars, and prices are constantly rising. AvtoVAZ products were no exception: last year Lada Granta went up by 13%, Niva Legend – by 17%. Vesta generally set records: in late summer – early autumn, Vesta SW Cross for 2.2 million rubles was something for granted, although its price is much lower.
This year, Vesta will go on sale in May (at least, as AvtoVAZ promised earlier), prices will be announced closer to the start of sales. But in the publication “Behind the wheel” they believe that by the end of 2023 the cost of Vesta can come close to the mark of 2 million rubles. And there are reasons for that.
“Behind the wheel” told why Lada cars have risen in price and will continue to rise in price
The most obvious are the increase in metal prices and the rise in the cost of components, some of which are still purchased abroad (not in Europe, but in China). In addition, from June 1, the installation of the ERA-GLONASS system will again become mandatory, and from November, the ABS system. It is clear how this will affect the cost of finished cars.
The head of AvtoVAZ proposes to increase the size of the scrap fee for cars and objects to state support for projects with a low degree of localization. For what? In order to be able to raise prices even more: in this case, the “Chinese” can add more AvtoVAZ products, against this background, the rise in price will not seem strong.
As a result, it is assumed that the cost of Lada Vesta NG by the end of the year may reach 1.95 million rubles. For comparison, about the same amount is now being asked in China for a Toyota Camry, if you convert rubles into yuan at the current exchange rate. In turn, Granta can also rise in price – up to about 1.3 million rubles (and this is the cost of Toyota Corolla in China).
