According to Hite, the lion’s share of the content (zones, campaign, quests, story) is already ready for release, but some elements of Shadowlands – in particular, the high-level segment of the game – require additional polish.

“Shadowlands is one of our most comprehensive extensions. Despite the progress made, the endgame debugging process is complicated by the fact that the team has to work from home, ”explained Hight.

Blizzard Entertainment did not make an easy decision to transfer, but the company believes this is the right move: “We believe Shadowlands will be something special and have heard similar thoughts from many of you. We need more time to help Shadowlands reach its true potential. ”

Among other things, Hight announced the release date of the preliminary Shadowlands patch – October 13th. With the release, updates will add a “foundation for expansion”, a redesigned level-up system, and additional character customization options.

In addition, shortly before the release of Shadowlands, the developers will hold a special event in which users will be called upon to protect Azeroth from the invasion of the Scourge.
