Blizzard veterans from Frost Giant Studios raise another $ 5 million to create a new RTS
In the second half of October 2020, Blizzard Entertainment veterans Tim Morten and Tim Campbell announced the opening of Frost Giant Studios, which will produce RTS for a wide audience. Simultaneously, they attracted investments for $ 4.7 million, and recently the second round of financing took place. Thanks to this, the team received another $ 5 million to create their own game.
Forbes reports that new investors in Frost Giant Studios include Korean fund Kona Venture Partners, international company Global Founders Capital, co-founder of nutritional bar firm RXBAR Jared Smith and interactive entertainment entrepreneur Eden Chen.
As a reminder, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier commented on the founding of Frost Giant Studios as follows: “I’ve heard stories of people at Blizzard who have been unsuccessfully trying to get the green light on RTS games in recent years, so it’s unfortunately not surprising that the development team who love this genre open their own company. “
At the moment, there are no details about the upcoming Frost Giant Studios project.
