Bloodborne in Taiwanese: Team17 will release a brutal action RPG Thymesia about the plague kingdom

Team17 has announced that it will be the publisher of the action RPG Thymesia from Taiwanese studio OverBorder. The game will be released this year on PC ( Steam ). The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, because of which the project caused many associations with  Bloodborne.

In the story, after an attempt to ban the dark art of alchemy, a plague spread in the once-prosperous kingdom, turning people into terrible monsters. Players will take on the mysterious Corvus’s role, who can “capture” the enemy’s disease and use it as a weapon, as well as turn into a crow and shower enemies with sharp feathers. In battles, you will have to “combine fierce attacks, choose the right moments to parry blows and dodge to defeat unforgiving opponents.” Users will be able to improve the characteristics and customize the character, developing an individual fighting style.

As the game progresses, Corvus will collect fragments of lost memories that will help determine the causes of the disaster. The story will unfold differently depending on how the user interprets them. Several variants of the ending are promised – the outcome depends on the decisions made and the items collected. According to the authors, each playthrough will offer something new.

“We are delighted that the players are following the project with great interest and that we got the chance to work with Team17, ” said Moon Lee, director of development for Thymesia. ” We look forward to presenting the challenging world we have created.”

“There is nothing like Thymesia in the Team17 portfolio, and we are eager to work with OverBorder Studio on this dark project, ” commented Team17 producer Craig McCarthy. “ We’re confident players will love exploring the world and putting their fighting skills to the test as Corvus, challenging themselves against monsters.”

The recommended system requirements include an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 graphics card. The game will take up 16GB of hard drive space. Thymes will be available in ten languages, including Russian.

OverBorder Studio began to talk about Thymesia on Twitter in May 2020. Since then, the developers have regularly posted screenshots, concept art, and gameplay snippets.

Also, recently, Team17 announced that it would help distribute the tactical shooter Ready Or Not from VOID Interactive. In February, the company released Heliocentric Studios’ co-op roguelike Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos, which received “mostly positive” reviews on Steam. On March 30, she will publish a 2D action game with Metroidvania elements Narita Boy from Studio Koba, and in May – an action RPG about sea pirates King of Seas from 3DClouds.
