New Consumer Reports test
Consumer Reports, a non-profit organization that has been protecting the interests of consumers since 1936, tested the range of various electric vehicles.
BMW and Mercedes-Benz were also the best among electric vehicles.
The test was carried out on a highway at a speed of 112 km/h, and involved vehicles with mileage ranging from 3,000 to 24,000 km, while outside temperatures during testing ranged from 21 to 32 °C. Even under these ideal conditions, nearly half of the 22 EVs failed to meet EPA ratings.
The worst performers were the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Model S and Lucid Air. The Nissan Ariya performed well, close to the EPA estimate. BMW’s electric vehicles performed significantly better than expected. The most successful of the group was the Mercedes-Benz EQE.
