British charts: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla starts at # 1 despite the release of the new Call of Duty

The Games Industry portal shared information on sales of retail editions of games in the UK during the period from 8 to 14 November. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla topped the new rating.

The achievement of the Scandinavian action movie Ubisoft is notable for the fact that it had to compete with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – the Call of Duty games over the past 13 years have started in the UK retail better than any other releases of their week.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla more than doubled Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, while Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War lost 64% to its predecessor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare .

It is worth noting that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had more time to show its result (Call of Duty was released three days later). In addition, a significant portion of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s sales were digital.

Among other things, the chart included games from the starting lineup that has not yet been released in the PlayStation 5 region – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (3rd place), the remake of Demon’s Souls (6th place), Sackboy: A Big Adventure (13- 4th place) and Godfall (16th place).

In terms of other new releases of the week, Just Dance 2021 debuted at # 11, Planet Coaster: Console Edition at # 17, and Yakuza: Like A Dragon at # 20.

In total, from November 8 to November 14, over 790 thousand boxed versions of games were sold in the UK – 96% more than a week earlier. In monetary terms, the increase was 165% – £ 36.4 million.
