British charts: Mafia remake made it to the top 6 twice, but could not disturb the leaders

The Games Industry portal shared information on the sales of retail editions of games in the UK during the period from 20 to 26 September. Despite the arrival of Mafia: Definitive Edition, the leader of the rankings has remained the same.

The remake of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven debuted in third place, and the Mafia Trilogy set that included the game came in sixth. Games Industry notes that none of the projects “sold very well

The remaining positions in the top 10 were shared by familiar faces: despite a 78% drop in sales, the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection outstripped Marvel’s Avengers in the fight for the first line, which lost 21% in a week.

Thanks to this result, the 3D Super Mario collection became the best-selling game in British retail in September, barely overtaking the superhero action game Square Enix.

Two other debutants of the last reporting period – WWE 2K Battlegrounds and football PES 2021 Season Update – safely flew out of the top 10. Arcade wrestling 2K landed in 11th place, and Konami football sim – in 34th.

This week will mark the release of Star Wars Squadrons and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and seven days later, FIFA 21 will go on sale – the games of the series traditionally show strong results in the UK.

The top 10 UK retail charts from September 20-26 are as follows (last week’s result is shown in parentheses):

  1. Super Mario 3D All-Stars (1);
  2. Marvel’s Avengers (2);
  3. Mafia: Definitive Edition (new)
  4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons (3);
  5. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (5);

  7. Minecraft Dungeons (8);
  8. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (4);
