Signed a new agreement with Microsoft

Sony has signed a 10-year deal with Microsoft to bring the Call of Duty series to PlayStation after Microsoft buys Activision Blizzard. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said that Sony and Microsoft have reached a “binding agreement” to keep Call of Duty on the PlayStation.

This ended a year and a half long standoff between the companies after Microsoft announced its intentions to acquire Activision Blizzard in January 2022.

Microsoft’s initial offer to Sony in January 2022 included keeping “all existing Activision console games on Sony, including future versions of the Call of Duty franchise or any other current Activision franchise on Sony until December 31, 2027.” The terms of the new deal include the release of new parts of Call of Duty until 2033.

It is reported that Sony will release the PlayStation 6 seven years after the launch of the PlayStation 5, that is, in 2027.
