British Cambridge Audio (which recently integrated Roon on CXN V2 and EDGE NQ network players) has extended the AX range with the AXR100D stereo receiver-amplifier equipped with a DAB / FM radio tuner. The product has a classic design and an average size for its class. The measures are 110 (A) x 430 (L) x 340 (P) millimeters.
The amplification section delivers 100 W per channel on 8 ohms with a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.01% (1kHz, 80% of the nominal power; less than 0.15% 20Hz – 20kHz, 80% of the nominal power). The datasheet also reports a frequency response between 5 Hz and 50 kHz (-1dB) and a signal/noise ratio greater than 82 dB.
On the front, we find a headphone input with 6.3mm jack and analog input on 3.5mm jack. Other available connections include Bluetooth 5.0 (A2DP / AVRCP with SBC support), two optical digital inputs and one coaxial, three analog inputs on RCA, one MM phono input (Moving Magnet), the output for a recorder, the output to connect a subwoofer and connectors to connect two pairs of speakers.
AXR100D is proposed at the price of 499 pounds (about 560 euros) and will be available starting this month. Price and availability for Italy have not yet been communicated.
