Details were reported by Maxim Kadakov
Cars of the Chinese brand Changan, which are officially sold in Russia, may begin to be assembled in the Moscow region, as Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of the Za Rulem magazine, writes.
The visit of the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov to the Changan company went almost unnoticed. In Chongqing, he was shown both the conveyors and the R&D center. The governor even took a ride in the Avatar electric car. The goal is clear – to attract the Chinese with their technologies to the Moscow region. It’s not just about Changan. For example, in Beijing, we discussed the opening of a plant for the production of spare parts for trailers and semi-trailers in the Esipovo industrial park with the owner of the Huajing company.
Changan may begin to be collected in the Moscow region
He clarifies that if we talk about passenger cars, then in the Moscow region there is only one ready-made assembly site. This is the former Mercedes plant in Esipovo: “How much time has passed, but the plant still stands. When there was talk last spring that Hongqi cars would be assembled there, the Chinese told me: we don’t know who started such rumors, we didn’t make any promises.”
Recently there was a rumor about Chery. And so the governor has to look for potential partners himself it doesn’t work out any other way yet.
