To protect yourself, you need to improve overall digital literacy
Roman Dremlyuga, Deputy Director for Development at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Technology of the Far Eastern Federal University, said that the chatbot based on artificial intelligence ChatGPT has learned to create virus programs that target the individual features of the operating system and specific vulnerabilities.
Criminals are always very quick to adapt technological innovations. In principle, when some new effective tool appears, criminals try to adapt it and do it very quickly. <…> You can already find examples of how this system generates malware code with the necessary properties for certain operating systems, for certain tasks, for certain vulnerabilities, absolutely customized. Now, for the most part, this is done by security specialists for testing, but we are well aware of what this means that cybercriminals have long adopted it.

He added that cybercriminals have used artificial intelligence before, but now even an ordinary person without the appropriate skills can create viruses using ChatGPT.
According to him, in the future, criminals will be able to choose an individual way to steal money and personal data of users using artificial intelligence. Users need to improve their overall digital literacy to protect themselves from such misconduct.
