About 20 models will be built on its basis in 2023-2024
Chery held a big event in China, during which they officially presented their new cars. We will talk about the cars themselves later, and in this news we will talk about the C-DM (Chery Dual Mode) hybrid system. According to the manufacturer, at least 20 models will be built on its basis in the current and next years.
The basis of the C-DM is the fifth-generation Acteco turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with 156 hp. and a thermal efficiency of 44.5%. The internal combustion engine in the C-DM will be combined with an electric motor, and a three-speed DHT transmission will combine their work. That is, the internal combustion engine and the electric motor will be able to work both on their own and friendly. But most of the time, the ICE will charge the traction battery.

Chery said something about the dynamics of the average car with C-MD. So, it will take only 3 seconds to accelerate from 30 to 70 km / h (this is a demonstration of the dynamics of the car in city traffic conditions), and to accelerate from 90 to 120 km / h (this is already important on the highway, for example, to overtake a heavy truck ) – 3.6 s.
C-MD supports fast charging: the traction battery can be charged to 80% in just 18 seconds. As for the efficiency parameters, the following data are given: gasoline consumption is 4.2 liters per 100 km and more than 1400 km on a fully fueled and charged car.
