China’s BOE has released 16 million flexible OLED panels in the first half of the year. Almost like the whole last year

Chinese display panel manufacturer BOE boasts quite a good market performance. According to the latest reports, the company’s flexible OLED panel shipments have grown significantly in the first half of this year. The company has shipped 16 million of these matrices, which is significantly higher than last year. BOE sold roughly the same number of panels over the past year.

The company sold 17 million flexible OLEDs last year, just one million more than in the first half of 2020. That’s the equivalent of an impressive 94 percent growth. BOE has reportedly set a goal to ship 40 million flexible OLED panels by the end of the year. If it can do this, then growth, compared with last year, will be as much as 135 percent.

While BOE’s annual shipments forecast for flexible OLEDs is more than double last year’s numbers, it is still significantly less than forecast before the coronavirus pandemic. According to initial plans, the company expected to sell over 70 million of these displays this year.
