The car may leave earlier than expected
A small electric SUV Chery iCar 03 has already begun to roll off the assembly line. It was originally scheduled to hit the market in October, but actual sales could start much earlier as series production has already begun.
Recall that iCar is a new electric brand of Chery Group, focused on young buyers. Its future lineup will consist of seven cars, including the iCar GT electric sports coupe and the iCar 03 electric crossover. Its price will start at around $20,000. Today, its mass production has started in China. Externally, the car resembles the Land Rover Defender.

Official photos from the production line show that the production version of the iCar 03 is close to the concept car unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. Official photos of the iCar 03 were released last week. The car received a large hover screen, an LCD instrument panel and an additional screen for the front passenger. The interior is distinguished by the absence of physical buttons on the center console, and instead of handles, buttons are installed on the doors.
iCar 03 will be equipped with two electric motors, which will match the power of the 2.5-liter turbo engine. The range of the car with a fully charged battery will be more than 500 km. And later, a version with a power reserve of 1000 km is expected to be released. The equipment will include the iCar Smart Cabin system with more than 20 sensors and 10 driving modes. iCar 03 will offer L2+ level autopilot, where you can’t take your hands off the steering wheel.
