In early 2018, Fox’s gaming division, which then acquired Cold Iron, announced the development of a shooter in the Alien universe. The game’s team then changed owners, eventually ending up in the hands of Daybreak Games.

However, Cold Iron will publish Aliens: Fireteam itself, as indicated on the game’s Steam page. According to the project description, this is a cooperative shooter with survival elements in which a squad of marines will fight against a swarm of alien creatures. The plot is set 23 years after the original Alien trilogy. The developers promise four campaigns, where players will meet more than 20 types of opponents, 11 of which are different types of xenomorphs, including face-hijackers and praetorians. Each of the enemies has its own artificial intelligence and battle strategy.
