“Colossal amount of work”: the head of Valve Gabe Newell defended Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt RED

CD Projekt RED has faced a lot of criticism due to bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 and the state of the console versions of the game at release. However, there were also those who defended the Polish studio. This was recently done by the head of Warhorse Studios, Daniel Vavra, and now a similar comment was given by the head of Valve, Gabe Newell, in an interview with the New Zealand TV channel 1 News.

Cyberpunk 2077

At first, Newell said that he had already played Cyberpunk 2077. According to him, many studios face problems with the action role-playing game CD Projekt RED when creating their projects. “All I know, ” said Gabe Newell, “ is that there are a lot of happy [Cyberpunk 2077 release] players in the PC market, and they are the ones [at Valve] that we see the most. There are aspects of the game that are just great, and it shows a tremendous amount of work – it’s unfair to throw stones at any developers [from CDPR] because releasing something so complex and ambitious is great

Sony’s decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the PS Store Gabe Newell called “unusual” In his opinion, people are angry at CD Projekt RED because “they care” For the Polish studio, this will be an experience that it can use in the future to “make clients happy”.
