The same GPUs will be in mobile processors Tiger Lake
The other day Intel introduced the new Comet Lake desktop processors, which, unfortunately, are very conditional new. In fact, these are the same Coffee Lake, but with a number of not very significant changes in the new version. Well, of course, the lineup now has 10-core models.
Confirmed one of the main features of the long-awaited really new Intel desktop CPUs. Rocket Lake lineup will get Xe GPU
According to numerous rumors, at the end of this year, Intel will release Rocket Lake processors, which, although they retain the 14-nanometer process technology, will be able to offer users a new architecture for both the CPU and GPU.
All rumors previously attributed the graphic cores of the Xe architecture to these processors. And now we have direct evidence of this.
Intel’s latest graphics driver for Linux found mention of Rocker Lake processors. And they are mentioned there in conjunction with the mention of the new Gen 12 GPUs, which we know as solutions of the Xe line.
It is also worth noting that the driver code contains a reference to six different identifiers for the Xe GPU in the CPU Rocket Lake. It is unlikely that the desktop line of these processors will have so many different modifications of the graphics cores, but, firstly, there are rumors that Rocket Lake will be available in the mobile segment, and secondly, not all modifications will eventually be available on the market.
Another nuance is support for Rocket Lake processors by Intel 400 and Intel 500 chipsets, but we knew this before.
