Console versions of Cyberpunk 2077 began to receive critical reviews – the verdict is disappointing

Almost a week after the publication of reviews for the PC version of the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077, the first reviews of console editions began to appear on the Metacritic aggregator website.

Recall that CD Projekt RED did not provide journalists with access to versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and Xbox One prior to release. It’s not hard to trace the reason for this decision: on both platforms, the game suffers from a lot of problems.

On a PC, the technical condition of Cyberpunk 2077 is also far from ideal, but even the developers could not foresee the scale of the disaster on consoles: just yesterday the studio had to apologize for the situation.

“The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are simply inappropriate, and I’m sad to think that the familiarity of many with Cyberpunk 2077 will be ruined in this way,” concluded his review by the IGN author (40%).

The journalist of the French portal JeuxVideo (35%) came to an equally disappointing conclusion: “These versions for the” fatties “are a vivid example of why Cyberpunk 2077 should have become nothing more than a new generation exclusive

Cyberpunk 2077’s User Metacritic Score is even lower: 3 ( PS4 ) and 4 ( Xbox One ). The score could have been worse if some players had not decided to give the project 10 points in advance or turn a blind eye to the problems of console editions.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS4, Xbox One, GeForce Now and Google Stadia, as well as next-generation consoles (in backward compatibility mode).
