Contrary to rumors, Huawei unveils MateStation B515 desktop computer based on AMD chip instead of ARM

Today, November 21, a publication with information about the MateStation B515 desktop PC appeared on the official website of Huawei. The kit, in addition to the actual system unit, includes a monitor, a keyboard with a fingerprint scanner, and a computer mouse. And the heart will be a chip from AMD.

Earlier, we wrote about rumors that the computer will be built on the 7nm ARM processor Kunpeng 920 (D920S10), developed in the HiSilicon division. Apparently, the company felt that the Windows computer market was not yet quite ready for this kind of change, so the MateStation B515 was based on AMD chips. In total, two modifications are available – with an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G or AMD Ryzen 7 4700G processor. Both options will use integrated Radeon graphics.

The amount of RAM varies from 8 to 16 GB of DDR4 type. For data storage, there is a combination of M.2 SSD with a volume of 256 or 512 GB and a 1 TB hard drive. Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac modules are, of course, available. The operating system is Windows 10 Home with preinstalled programs from Huawei, including Huawei Share, which allows you to quickly exchange files with Huawei smartphones over a wireless connection and launch mobile applications from a smartphone on a computer.

The computer comes with a 23.8-inch FullHD IPS monitor, a keyboard with a built-in fingerprint reader, connected via USB, and a wired mouse. Pricing and launch date have not yet been announced.
