Intel is already preparing Tiger Lake Refresh processors

It would seem that Intel Tiger Lake-U and Tiger Lake-H35 processors have only recently been registered in laptops, but the company is already working hard on the updated CPU line – Tiger Lake Refresh. And on the Web there are already the first details on this score.

Core i7-1195G7 and Core i5-1155G7 are the first Intel mobile processors to support DDR5 memory

Recall, initially it was assumed that the first consumer Intel CPUs with support for DDR5 memory will be Alder Lake, which is expected to be officially released in August-September, but Tiger Lake Refresh will be released even before that. And their main feature will be just support for LPDDR5 memory.

According to the source, there will be at least two new models in the Tiger Lake-U line – Core i7-1195G7 and Core i5-1155G7. They will replace the Core i7-1185G7 and Core i5-1145G7 processors, respectively. If the current processor models support only LPDDR4x-4266 memory (this is at best, the simpler version is DDR4-3200), then the new ones will receive support for LPDDR5-5400 memory. And this also promises an increase in the speed of the GPU built into the CPU.

However, Refresh, or an update, will affect not only the Tiger Lake-U line, but, as mentioned above, Tiger Lake-H35. The innovations are the same, and there are also two models: Core i5-11320H and Core i7-11XXXX (alas, the second source does not give the full designation).

While the issue of the release date of Tiger Lake Refresh remains open, but there is no time to hesitate – the finished devices on Alder Lake are expected by the end of the year. This means that Tiger Lake Refresh can be presented as early as May-June.
