The owners of this Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based camper spent eight months and about $150,000 purchasing the van and upgrading it.

The dining area has a turntable that can be moved. The bed is raised by a lift above this area and an electric motor lowers the mattress onto a custom aluminum frame.

The kitchen has bamboo cabinets. The drawers in them are designed in such a way as to make the most efficient use of the available space. There is a UV filter installed in the sink.

The shower here is better than some factory-built Sprinter motorhomes. The walls are covered with white marble tiles and the plumbing is black. There are teak slats on the floor and a boiler on top.

There is storage space at the front of the van, against the wall. There is enough space at the top to hang things. There is a hole at the bottom through which two cats can get to the litter box.

The owners live in the van all year round. For their comfort, they installed heated floors and air conditioning. With 800 watts of solar power and 540 amp batteries, these units can run on AC power for four to five hours a day.

The outside of the van has a massive rack that can hold a ton of gear, including two bikes and inflatable kayaks. In winter, owners replace bicycle racks with ski racks.
