Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer development led by co-creator of Star Wars: The Old Republic and Dragon Age: Inquisition

CD Projekt RED back in September last year confirmed the development of multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077. It will be distributed as a standalone game and will be noted for the presence of microtransactions. The company did not provide any more details, but now it became known who led the development of the multiplayer component of the hotly anticipated role-playing action.

Resource Night City Life regularly monitors job CD Projekt RED and recruitment of new staff. The portal found out that Gabe Amatangelo has been appointed creative director at the company’s office in Wroclaw. This division is engaged in the creation of multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077. It turns out that the mentioned leader is leading the project.

Previously, Gabe Amatangelo worked at BioWare: he worked as a PvP combat designer in Star Wars: The Old Republic, then as a lead and additional designer on the production of the following extensions for this MMORPG. Amatangelo also had a hand in Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Jaws of Hakkon expansion as design director. He also managed to work as a consultant at CCP Games, which develops and supports EVE Online.

The single part of Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10, 2020, on PC, PS4, Xbox One, GeForce Now, and Google Stadia. Later, there will be versions for new generation consoles. The release date for the multiplayer has not yet been announced.
