Cyberpunk 2077 Senior Mission Designer: “I love annoying players with ambiguity.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Senior Quest Designer Patrick Mills has posted a series of posts on his personal microblog. In them, he talked about his approach to creating missions in the mentioned game. According to the developer, he likes to create stories with open and ambiguous endings, but he also knows how players feel about it.

Patty Mills wrote on Twitter: «My biggest shame in connection with the games is what I’m going through one game every few years. More often than not, I lose interest when the ending appears on the horizon. The last project I went through to the end was SOMA (and it was worth it). Note that when people mention my missions in Cyberpunk 2077, they say they like them. But they also report the lack of completion, summing up. This is probably due [to the above]. I also like to annoy players with ambiguity

Apparently, it was Patrick Mills who created the side quest chain associated with Jefferson Perales, the candidate for mayor of Knight City. The final quest in this storyline leaves plenty of room for thought regardless of the choices the player makes.
