Necromunda: Underhive Wars is the first video game adaptation of a board game from Games Workshop. Users will descend under the hive cities, where industrial production never stops, and lead one of three warring factions – Escher, Goliath, or Orlock. In battles, you will have to set traps, set up ambushes, and take positions on the hills. All the features of the gang, from the skills, professions, and flaws of the fighters to their appearance, can be customized.

The storyline campaign tells how the gangster Houses fight for the right to possess “ancient technology that bestows power and prosperity” The game also features an endless Operations mode and multiplayer modes with support for up to four users (including team, one-on-one, and free-for-all).

Necromunda: Underhive Wars has yet to receive enough reviews and does not have an average Metacritic score. PC Invasion employee Jason Rodriguez gave the project a 5.5 out of 10. Despite the “addictive sandbox”, the game pushed him aside by the linearity of the campaign and the flawed combat mechanics. He emphasized that only “dedicated fans” of Mordheim: City of the Damned, also created by Rogue Factor and scoring 72-74 out of 100 on Metacritic, will be able to enjoy it.

However, even some of those who liked Mordheim: City of the Damned did not like the new game. On Steam, Necromunda: Underhive Wars has mixed reviews (over 220 reviews in total  ). Most of the users who have left positive feedback boldly recommend it to fans of Warhammer 40,000 and the board game Necromunda. Among the advantages are the carefully designed environment, detailed models of the bandits, the gloomy atmosphere of the underachieves, deep customization, and a solid combat system without a grid.

Many of those who do not consider themselves to be fans of the universe were left disappointed. The most recurring complaints are too slow battles (you have to watch the progress of each enemy, although the user always knows their location), silly AI (enemies often do not notice the player’s fighters and get stuck in objects), graphical flaws, and serious technical problems (including damaging save ). For some, Necromunda: Underhive Wars felt like an early access game.

On Steam, the game is offered for 1,499 rubles (excluding the 20% discount valid until September 14). The version for the PlayStation 4 is priced at 2849 rubles, and for the Xbox One – at $ 39.99 (on the first day after the release – $ 31.99).
