Deathloop’s plot won’t end at the most interesting point, and Xbox Game Pass will allow Arkane to continue making games
Death loop director Dinga Bakaba, in an interview with Press Start, spoke about a possible sequel to the upcoming roguelike shooter Arkane Studios and the consequences of incorporating the company into Xbox Game Studios.
Recall that Deathloop tells about the mercenary Colt Vana, trapped in a time loop on the Black Reef Island. Eight ideologists prevent the hero from getting out – all of them will eventually need to be killed in one cycle.
Deathloop’s story is just beginning, but Press Start has already asked Bakaba about a possible sequel. According to the director, the developers always have a story to tell, but now the team focuses on a specific game.
Banaba assured that Deathloop was conceived as something self-contained with a well-defined beginning and end: “In the future, perhaps we will study the issue [of the expansion of the universe], but the plot does not end with a cliffhanger. “
In terms of the implications of the inclusion of Arkane Studios into Microsoft, the main thing for the studio at this stage was the addition of its games to the library of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
“Being in the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem changes something for us: since we occupy a place in this service, we can continue to create our games and do it well,” says Bakaba.
Death loop is slated for release on May 21 this year on PC (Steam, Bethesda Launcher) and PS5. In a recent video, Game Informer, they talked about the main characters’ design features in the game.
