Recall that such a significant delay compared to other major releases in the fall is due to the fact that Sony Interactive Entertainment decided not to give journalists access to the game until its official premiere.

And, as it turned out, in vain. The average rating of the updated Demon’s Souls on the Metacritic website reached 93% at the time of publication of the material – the original game received 89% at the time.

This result also allowed the remake of Demon’s Souls to become the highest-rated game for the next generation consoles: the best representative of the Xbox Series X and S in the person of Yakuza: Like a Dragon was awarded 86%.

Reviewers praise the great graphics and animations, 60fps support, and modern gameplay while criticizing the lack of new content and outdated boss game designs.

The author of Video Games Chronicle was delighted with Demon’s Souls (100%): “One of the best PlayStation starter games of all time. If Bluepoint is capable of this on PlayStation 5 launch day, it will be very interesting to see what it accomplishes with the console in a few years

A GameSpot journalist put Demon’s Souls at 90%: “Bluepoint took the original From Software game and portrayed it in a deeper and more complete way, which gave me an incredible opportunity to relive the moment I fell in love with the Souls games

The lowest rating of the presented – 84% – was awarded to the new creation of Bluepoint Games by the journalist of the Video Chums portal. To the author of the edition, the remake seemed too similar to the original game.

“Speaking of controversial issues. Demon’s Souls remake is not really a remake. This is a new graphical interface of the original with a few minor changes, ”says a Video Chums employee.

The remake of Demon’s Souls was released on November 12 this year exclusively on the PlayStation 5. Soon after the release, a mysterious locked door was found in the game, which was not in the original source.
