Demon’s Souls remake will not feature ray tracing

It looks like the action RPG Demon’s Souls on the PlayStation 5 will not have ray tracing, despite the fact that the developers have previously stated otherwise. In an interview with Level Up, this was confirmed by creative director Gavin Moore.

The developer said that the upcoming remake will not support ray tracing, since its implementation requires resources – and they do not. “This, like any other graphics enhancement, comes at a cost. If we were to implement ray tracing in the game, we would have to sacrifice something. Time to develop the game is limited, ”Moore explained.

Gavin Moore also added that at the beginning of development, the team did not know if Demon’s Souls would support ray tracing. “We wanted to focus on the entourage and appearance of the characters. Everything is lit in real-time with real-time shadows, ” he continued.

In addition, it was revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment will release the Demon’s Souls digital soundtrack on November 26th. A disc edition will be released shortly thereafter. And for vinyl collectors, pre-order will open in early December.

Demon’s Souls is coming to PlayStation 5 on November 19.
