Developer Everybody’s Golf interrupts a 20-year series of PlayStation exclusives and releases the game on iOS
For over 20 years, Clap Hanz has been developing the PlayStation-exclusive Everybody’s Golf series of golf simulators. However, this week it unexpectedly released its game on iOS in Apple Arcade.
Clap Hanz was founded in 1998 and has since worked with Sony Interactive Entertainment on the Everybody’s Golf series and its tennis and VR offshoots. In total, the studio has released 13 projects on PlayStation consoles. But this Friday, many were surprised to see Clap Hanz Golf on Apple Arcade. The game contains several modes (including local multiplayer) and characters, reminiscent of the Everybody’s Golf series.
Sony Interactive Entertainment disbanded Japan Studio this week. The developer was known for such original projects as Knack, Gravity Rush, and Ape Escape. All of these events appear to be part of a massive change in the company’s course.
Clap Hanz Golf is one of 30 games added to Apple Arcade on Friday in what Apple called the service’s “biggest expansion” to date. Also on the list are the RPG Fantasian from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and the action game World of Demons from PlatinumGames.
