Recall in Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! (since the announcement, an exclamation mark was added to the name) users get the role of a new recruit in the ranks of the civilian police, which needs fresh blood.

The four-minute video begins with a kind of interview (the applicant is required to defeat the five-headed hydra from the debut trailer ), which the hero has to go through to join the famous detective duo.

Having reached the office of Sam and Max, the player begins to look for something to do: shoot at rats, throw knives at a target, interact with environmental objects (touch everything), and characters.

Among other things, as part of the trailer, the developers are demonstrating (apparently) an underground amusement park with target shooting, its own climbing wall, as well as the ability to throw and dip Max into the water.

Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! will go on sale in the first half of 2021 for PC. Which virtual reality helmets are supported by the upcoming adventure is not specified.

The project involves the authors of the original Sam & Max Hit the Road and games in the Telltale Games universe. In addition, Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell participates as a consultant in the development.
