Recall, until recently, the premiere of Director’s Cut was expected on March 18 this year. Thus, the addon was postponed just a week before the intended initial release.

As it became known, from now on, the launch of Director’s Cut is scheduled for April 8 this year. The expansion will be available as a standalone purchase or as part of a second Season Pass across all Borderlands 3 target platforms.

The reason for the delay, as the developers admitted, was the harsh weather conditions (including abnormal frosts), which in February hit the state of Texas, where the Gearbox Software office is located.

“Fortunately, our team members and their families are healthy and safe. But the work on Director’s Cut was inevitably disrupted, and we decided to move the release date to provide the best possible experience, ”reads the statement.

The Director’s Cut will include a new raid boss (marked Hemovorous the Invincible) and a chain of side missions to investigate mysterious murders using special detective mechanics.

Borderlands 3 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Owners of the game on consoles of the previous generation are entitled to a free upgrade to versions for new consoles.
