DiRT 5 will also not be able to offer transferring saves from PS4 to PS5

British studio Codemasters in the official microblogging of its arcade racing series DiRT commented on DiRT 5‘s ability to transfer progress from current generation consoles to the next.

As a reminder, DiRT 5 will offer buyers of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version with Xbox Series S, respectively.

As with Maneater, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, DiRT 5 will not allow you to transfer saves from PS4 to PS5, while this feature is fully present on Xbox consoles.

However, unlike the listed games, some of the progress will still be allowed to take with you to the new Sony console: we are talking about creations in the editor of the racing arenas ” Playgrounds “.

However, not all PS5 games will put such restrictions on users. As it turned out, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will not prevent the transfer of saves from one generation console to another.

Apparently, this situation arose due to the peculiarities of the new systems: on Microsoft consoles, games for two different Xbox cycles have a single SKU identifier, while on PlayStation they are considered different products.

After two minor transfers, the premiere of DiRT 5 is expected on November 6 of this year on PC (Steam), PS4, Xbox One, on November 10 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and on November 19 (Russian release) on PS5.
