DOOM Eternal Producer Hints What To Expect For Current Generation Consoles
DOOM Eternal Executive Producer Marty Stratton gave Polygon a hint of what to expect from id Software’s upcoming shooter update for current generation consoles.
Recall that the release of full versions of DOOM Eternal for PS5, Xbox Series X, and S is expected during the current year. Stretton did not specify the timing of the premiere but shared other details.
“As a rule, we give players a lot of options. Our menus for graphics, gameplay, and controller settings – I mean, we really try to provide as many options and sliders as possible, ”Stretton said.
When the id Software team gains access to new hardware (in this case, current-generation consoles), Stretton says, the art and technology departments are starting to pull the blanket.
“Ray tracing is a great example. What does [this feature] mean for the visual style of the game? Will he change? How do we want to change it? ” – commented Stretton.
DOOM Executive Producer Eternal also added that the id Software team is focusing on “scalability [technology], high frame rates and high resolution regardless of the platform you’re playing on . “
DOOM Eternal is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia. Yesterday, March 18, The Ancient Gods DLC, Part Two, was released on all target platforms except Nintendo’s hybrid console.
