Drew Murray, design director for new Perfect Dark, leaves the Initiative

The Initiative studio has been gathering experienced developers under its wing for two years. For example, Lee Davis and Francisco Aisa Garcia of Naughty Dog recently joined the team. And now it became known that the team has lost an important employee – The Initiative has left the design director of the new Perfect Dark, Drew Murray.

In a personal microblog, the leader wrote: “After two crazy years of working at The Initiative and Xbox on relaunching Perfect Dark, it’s time to tearfully say goodbye to our team at The Initiative. It was unusual to work shoulder to shoulder with such a talented and experienced team, many of whom have become friends, but my life outside of work requires more attention and space than I could have given recently, so I am leaving my post

Drew Murray also said that he didn’t know what project he would have to work on at The Initiative when he joined the company. According to him, the studio’s creative vision and talent will allow it to make Perfect Dark a game that stands out from the general background.
