Elden Ring spotted in parent company From Software report and new leak
The Japanese publisher Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of From Software, mentioned Elden Ring in its recent financial statements. In addition, a new unconfirmed excerpt from the game has appeared on the web.
In the document, Kadokawa Corporation calls Elden Ring “the largest” From Software project in terms of “immediate volume” and the release of an action RPG as one of the key growth drivers shortly.
The exact timing of the release of Elden Ring is not given in the financial report; however, for the current fiscal year (until April 2022), the Kadokawa Corporation announced several games, which is going on steadily.
As for the leak, a 6-second video appeared on 4chan. By itself, this portal cannot be called a reliable source, but this video, apparently, is part of the March one.
This theory is supported by the resolution (576 × 320, the same as in the previous fragments), the Confidential BNEE Internal Use BIZ Sessions watermark, and the player familiar from the previous fragments in which the segment is played.
Both the March snippets and the new snippet are believed to be part of a non-public Elden Ring trailer created in late 2019 or early 2020 without From Software’s involvement.
Elden Ring is announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. According to unconfirmed reports, the game’s production was seriously slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the likelihood of a premiere in the current calendar year is minimal.
