Electronic Arts bought a new studio for $ 2.4 billion
Late last year, Electronic Arts reached an agreement with Codemasters’ board of directors to acquire a British game developer and publisher. The deal amounted to $ 1.2 billion, while Electronic Arts will pay twice as much for Glu Mobile.
British studio Glu Mobile was founded in 2005 and had a portfolio of around 200 games, including Tap Sports Baseball, Dine Dash Adventures, and Disney Sorcerer’s Arena. Developers often release large projects with high-quality 3D graphics.
The vast majority of games are distributed using a shareware model; they generate income through microtransactions.
