Elite: Dangerous Creators Assigned Alpha to Odyssey and Revealed Infantry Mission for the First Time

Frontier Developments previously announced the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey expansion, which will include the ability to control the commander separately from the ship, as well as missions associated with this function. Now the developer has demonstrated the infantry mission passage and named the date for the start of alpha testing on the PC.

The PC version of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey was pushed back to Spring earlier this year, and console players will have to wait until fall. Besides, keyboard and mouse enthusiasts will evaluate the expansion even earlier: alpha testing will begin on March 29th.

The developer also provided a recording of the expansion’s raid mission. The video shows a group of three commanders raiding a military outpost on foot. Their goal is to disable the power supply center and deprive the opposing faction of energy. The invasion group is equipped specifically for the chosen role, and the tactical equipment of the fighters gives an advantage in completing the assigned tasks. The latter can include penetration into the base without detection, hacking, and so on.

Elite: Dangerous is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
