The number of Starlink satellites increased by 60 yesterday
SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched in the United States yesterday, successfully delivering 60 more Starlink satellites into orbit. As a result, their number in the system is already approaching 1100: in total, 1,083 devices are functioning – and this is without the two prototypes launched in 2018.
Elon Musk’s satellite Internet is gaining momentum: the Starlink system has over 1000 satellites and over 10,000 users
At the same time, details about the number of users of the system appeared on the Web. We will remind you, open beta testing of the satellite Internet service SpaceX began at the end of last year for residents of the United States, Canada, and the UK. The company itself does not disclose statistics on users of the service, but these data unexpectedly turned up in the American regulator FCC database.
For example, an application has been submitted to the FCC to register Starlink as a telecom operator, and SpaceX indicates that more than 10,000 people are already using the service. It is also noted that Starlink can provide a stable connection to the Network at a speed of 100/20 Mbit / s with a latency of 31 ms. As a reminder, beta testing participants pay $ 100 per month for such a channel.
