Emphasis on simplicity: the Ministry of Digital Science presented revised “State Services”, you can try it now

At the moment, users can switch to the new version of “Gosuslug” in browsers at gosuslugi.ru/new, see how the portal will look, and also evaluate its functions. A full transition to the updated portal is planned for May 2021. In order to avoid disruptions in the work of the site, the updated functionality will appear on the portal gradually. 

Work on updating the “State Services” began in the spring of 2020. The current portal was launched in 2009 and has not undergone significant revision since then. 

The developers note that the concept of the new portal is based on the principle – just outside, difficult inside. The services in the previous version of the portal looked like a paper application form that had to be filled in from top to bottom. The developers found out that users “wandered” by such statements. 

Now, instead of long electronic forms, interactive dialogue is offered. The user answers questions, and “Gosuslugi” prompts what documents will be needed, what to do with them and what information needs to be entered. The application is automatically drawn up taking into account the situation and sent to the appropriate authority online.

As a pilot service, implemented according to the new principle, the provision of a criminal record certificate was chosen. Previously, every third user could not fill out the application correctly the first time. 30% of applicants were refused and had to go through the procedure again.

Also presented is the digital assistant “Max”, which is designed to replace the traditional search on the portal. The user enters a request – “Max” selects suitable materials and services.
