Epic Games became the owner of the developer studio Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout – the game will not disappear from Steam
On its official website, Epic Games announced the Tonic Games Group’s acquisition, which includes the Mediatonic studio – the developer of the popular multiplayer arcade game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.
In a blog post, Mediatonic clarified that the Epic Games deal does not mean shrinking Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout’s targeting platforms. The game will remain available for purchase on Steam and PlayStation Store.
According to the developers, the addition of Mediatonic to Epic Games will contribute to implementing plans to improve the game, release it on additional systems, and long-term support.
In particular, ideas were voiced for adding an accounting system, crossplay, and squad versus squad modes to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. The authors are still silent about the possible transition to a shareware distribution model.
“We have been fans of each other for a long time, and as we got to know the Epic team, it turned out that we have a lot in common, including a number of the same goals,” motivated the choice of a partner at Mediatonic.
In turn, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said that to create a “virtual future,” his team needs “talents who know how to create powerful games, content, and experiences. “
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is currently available on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, but the game is expected to be released this summer on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S Nintendo Switch.
