Epic Games Launches Early Access To MetaHuman Creator Tool To Create Realistic Animated People

Epic Games has launched early access to the MetaHuman Creator development tool. It allows you to create realistic animated human characters in minutes.

MetaHuman Creator was released in February. The tool received a lot of positive feedback from the users (they created two MetaHuman character samples). Early Access holders will now be able to use the Unreal Engine tool or for further editing in digital content creation applications such as Maya.

MetaHuman Creator combines 3Lateral and Cubic Motion technologies, recently owned by Epic Games. Previously, this caliber’s assets could only be created through extremely time-consuming and costly internal methods or outsourcing.

In MetaHuman Creator, you can customize facial features, correct skin color, edit teeth, and choose from a predefined range of body types, hairstyles, clothes, and more. Once imported into Unreal Engine, your character will be ready for animation.

Due to the app’s cloud-based nature, Epic Games has stated that it will add candidates gradually so that it may take a few days before your turn. For those who want to start using digital people in Unreal Engine right away, the company also provides over 50 pre-built MetaHumans from Quixel Bridge (another startup acquired by Epic Games).
