Epic Games tries again to get Apple to return Fortnite to the App Store

Epic Games is still trying to convince the court that a Fortnite game removed from the App Store should be forcibly returned to Apple’s digital content store. In a new petition, Epic says Apple’s actions negatively affect the developer’s reputation, as well as harm users.

Despite the fact that the next court hearing, in this case, is set for September 28, Epic is trying to persuade Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers to write out an order obliging Apple to return Fortnite to its store, at least until the end of the proceedings. We will remind, earlier the judge refused to write a temporary restraining order against Apple. This is because the developer has not proven that the removal of Fortnite harmed Epic. It was also said that Epic ” strategically violated the agreements established with Apple, ” so part of the blame rests with the developer.

In a new petition, Epic says it’s not just the company’s reputation that has suffered. “The number of daily active iOS users has dropped more than 60% since Fortnite was removed from the App Store, ” the developer said in a statement.

Epic also said that iOS is the largest platform for Fortnite with approximately 116 million registered users. In comparison, Fortnite has about 350 million registered users. It is claimed that 63% of Fortnite users on iOS lack the ability to interact with the game on other platforms. Epic expressed concern that it ” will never see these users again ” and that the Fortnite player community has been divided.

Additionally, Epic is upset that some of the company’s non-Fortnite customers have been affected by Apple’s actions. Recall that Apple removed not only Fortnite from the App Store, but also other Epic Games games, and also blocked the developer account on the platform.

Apple officials have yet to comment on Epic Games’ new petition.
