EVGA Launches Z490 Dark K | ngp | n Edition Extreme Overclocking Motherboard For $ 599

EVGA has released the Z490 Dark K | ngp | n Edition motherboard based on the Z490 chipset for Intel Comet Lake-S processors. The pseudonym of the famous overclocker Vince “K | ngp | n” Lucido in its name indicates that it differs from the usual Z490 Dark not only by the increased price from 499 to $ 599, but also by the support of the DDR4-5000 memory mode, and also by the presence of Lucido’s autograph on the box.

Motherboard

Despite its unusual appearance, the motherboard Z490 Dark K | NGP | N Edition belongs to the E-ATX category. Since the board is aimed at overclocking enthusiasts and enthusiasts, it has a number of relevant attributes. The board is based on a 10-layer textolite. Reliable operation and extreme overclocking stability of 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake-S processors are ready to provide an 18-phase power system for the processor socket, as well as two 8-pin EPS connectors.

It has triple BIOS support, two POST LEDs, a BIOS reset button, on-board power and reset buttons, and physical PCIe slot disable buttons. To organize effective cooling, the board provides for eight 4-pin connectors for connecting case fans.

Like the original version, the K | NGP | N Edition has only two DDR4 RAM sockets. The maximum supported volume is 64 GB. But if the usual Z490 Dark can work with DDR4-4800 memory, then for the K | NGP | N Edition support for DDR4-5000 and higher is declared.

To organize the storage subsystem, there are six SATA III ports, which are supported directly by the Z490 chipset itself. The ASMedia ASM1061 controller is responsible for the operation of two additional SATA III connectors. There is also a U.2 connector and two M.2 connectors for connecting fast solid-state drives up to 110 mm in length.
