The twitching of the eyes is called ‘Myokymia’ in medical language. When the muscles of the eyes start contracting, they start blinking. There are many common reasons for this. Apart from this, those who have vision-related problems, their eyes start to flutter when there is more stress.

According to an NIH report, if the eye is blinking continuously for several days, then it can be a symptom of serious illness. Medically, three different conditions of blinking are described, which are called myokymia, blepharospasm, and hemifacial spasm.
