Facebook started merging Instagram and Messenger chats in its latest update

Facebook seems to have tackled the integration of the Instagram and Messenger chat systems. On Friday evening, several editors of The Verge in the US on iOS and Android devices noticed that in the mobile Instagram app will be updated screen with the message: “The Instagram, a new way of messaging,” with a list of features, including “The new colorful look to your chat”, more emoji responses, a swipe to reply and “chat with friends who use Facebook

As soon as the user clicks “Refresh”, the usual DM icon in the upper right corner of Instagram will be replaced with the Facebook Messenger logo. Instagram chats are truly more colorful than before, with the sender’s messages changing from blue to purple as they scroll. However, at least for now, it is still not possible to send messages to Facebook users from Instagram.

But Facebook has made it clear that it plans to unify the messaging platforms of its hugely popular apps to enable communication between Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Facebook is reportedly rebuilding the underlying infrastructure so that those who used only one of its apps can write to users of other Facebook apps.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced a desire to implement end-to-end encryption in the system. By integrating its most popular apps, Facebook can compete directly with Apple’s iMessage. Facebook acquired Instagram for $ 1 billion in 2012 and acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for $ 19 billion.
