Snapdragon 782G to replace Snapdragon 750G in current generation
Fairphone is preparing to release its new smartphone. We have already seen images of it , but now the device is lit up in the Geekbench database.
For some reason, the software does not indicate the platform directly, but there are characteristics of the cores: one with a frequency of 2.7 GHz, three with a frequency of 2.4 GHz and four with a frequency of 2 GHz. This is in line with the Snapdragon 782G SoC, which is about 10% faster than the Snapdragon 778G in terms of performance.

By comparison, the Fairphone 4 is based on the Snapdragon 750G, so the generational gains will be very significant.
The software also detects the presence of 8 GB of RAM, but this may not be the basic version. The current model is equipped with 6 or 8 GB.
There are no other details yet. Recall that the other day the company surprised by the fact that it released Android 13 for Fairphone 3 and 3+ , and this despite the fact that smartphones did not receive Android 12. What’s more, these models will get Android 14, but the company has said it wants to release updates for these models before 2026. If the Fairphone 5 ends up getting the same support, that means it will eventually get an Android 20 or 21 update!
