False alarm: iconic action game Killer7 was mistakenly listed as a future release on Switch

VP of Development, Engine Software, Ruud van de Moosdijk, at Nintendo Life ‘s request, denied recent rumors that Killer7 will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

It all started with the fact that YouTuber Doctre81 drew attention to van de Moosdejk’s LinkedIn profile, where, along with the PC version of Killer7, the publication for the hybrid Nintendo console was mentioned in the list of selected works.

In addition, in the “General Information” section, van de Moosdeyck lists a collaboration with a “famous Japanese game designer”, and the author of Killer7 Goichi Suda is one of those.

Following the discovery of the recording, van de Moosdijk removed the mention of the PC from the game card, and in the commentary, Nintendo Life assured that his new project had nothing to do with Killer7.

“Without going into details about unannounced games, I will say that a joint project with a famous Japanese game designer is not Killer7 for Switch, sorry,” van de Moosdijk apologized to the disappointed community.

As recently as May, Souda admitted that he would like to release his past works on Nintendo Switch, but to realize these desires, the consent of the respective companies is required: in the case of Killer7, it is Capcom.

Killer7 was released in July 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube, and in November 2018, thanks to the efforts of the same Engine Software, it reached PC (Steam). In the Valve digital distribution service, the game costs 435 rubles.
