Fan added full mod support to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

Portal PC Gamer drew attention to the fact that last week an enthusiast under the pseudonym suckled provided the cult horror action game Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth with unofficial support for modifications.

DCoTEHook (as the creation of suckled is called) is a software injector that forces Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth to check the mod directory before launching.

For Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, the suckled achievement means compatibility with Vortex, a mod manager created by the Nexus Mods team supporting dozens of games.

Download DCoTEHook for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, and also read sucklead’s instructions for installing and configuring the software injector on GitHub.

Currently, the Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth page on the Nexus Mods website is not bursting with the amount of user-generated content: while a variation on the ReShade theme and a set of higher resolution textures are available for download.

Previously, suckled was noted for the release of DCoTEPatch – a large-scale patch for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, fixing several flaws and bugs from the original game.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth was released in October 2005 on the Xbox, and in March 2006, it reached the PC. The game was developed by UK-based Headfirst Productions, which closed shortly after the project’s release.
