This watch should receive a convex round screen

The first Oppo smartwatch, dubbed the Oppo Watch, was announced in March this year. They got a rectangular design, which is why they were compared to the Apple Watch.

In September 2019, Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications filed a patent with the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The documentation was published today, September 15, 2020. The patent disclosed three smartwatch designs including rectangular, square, and round. The last hours are of the greatest interest.

The design of this watch is very different from the original Oppo Watch. This watch, according to patent images, should have a convex circular screen, which the source calls a 3D curved display.

The description also refers to the crown, which is located on the right side of the case. The digital crown, like the Apple Watch, is not provided for the rectangular and square Oppo watches, which are also described in the patent. There is one physical button next to this control. There are various sensors on the back of the case.

It’s worth noting that Vivo, which, like Oppo, is a subsidiary of BBK, is gearing up to launch its first Vivo Watch with a circular display. A promo video for this model was posted today.
